What happens after I apply?

After you apply, your application goes first to the state agency which looks over the claim, orders some medical records, and makes a determination on your eligibility at that time. Most people get denied at this level and we always recommend that you check with an attorney before going forward because there are things that we can do for you that could eliminate a second denial and certainly to build your file if we have to go to a hearing later on.

If you are looking to file for Social Security benefits or have had your application denied, contact the Social Security lawyers of the Hankey Law Office at (800) 520-3633 to learn more about your options moving forward.
