A 24 year-old woman has been charged with driving while intoxicated resulting in bodily injury, driving while intoxicated with a passenger under the age of 18 years-old, and drunk driving causing endangerment after she hit and seriously injured a construction worker.
The victim, a 54 year-old man who was working on repaving the road, was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition. The accident happened Tuesday afternoon on East 10th Street and Post Road.
The woman was arrested by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department after she failed two of three field sobriety tests and admitted to consuming narcotics.
